March 2017; Orlando, Fla. — Construction has begun on Lake Nona’s third multifamily community, Ariel Apartments. Located near Boggy Creek Road and State Road 417, Ariel is a collection of 348 suburban, garden-style apartments anchored by a 7,600 square-foot clubhouse. Slated to open this summer with pre-leasing starting May 1, this gated community features eight unique floor plans including one, two and three bedroom homes within 13 buildings surrounded by nature trails and ponds.
Amenities include an expansive central green, a 24-hour fitness club, resort-style pool, business center, sand volleyball court, outdoor pavilion with billiards, multi-purpose theater, game room, pet spa with a grooming area, two dog parks, playground for the kids and an auto spa. Interiors boast open living areas with 9’ ceilings, gourmet kitchen, stainless-steel appliances, premium granite countertops, hardwood-style flooring and washers and dryers. The community will also feature several pedestrian paths and nature trails throughout the neighborhood that interconnect with Lake Nona’s 44 miles of trails to Lake Nona Medical City and nearby retail and shopping at the Lake Nona Town Center.
Lake Nona’s growing multifamily offerings now boast nearly 1,000 rental units across the community’s 17 square miles. Lake Nona Water Mark opened in 2013 with 278 luxury, garden style units and Landon House, a 279-unit urban-style community, opened in 2016. Ariel Apartments is a joint venture between Tavistock Development Company and WeldenField Development, with property management services by SPM, LLC. The general contractor is Walker & Company with architectural services by Fugleberg Koch.
“Lake Nona is one of the most exciting and dynamic communities in the southeast. WeldenField is excited to be involved with multifamily developments of such quality and distinction. Ariel will be an outstanding addition to the Lake Nona community and the portfolio of WeldenField properties. We look forward to a continued participation in the multifamily strategy for the Lake Nona community and a continuing relationship with Lake Nona and Tavistock Development Company,” said Chuck Welden, a principal with WeldenField.
Ariel sits within Lake Nona, Orlando’s fastest growing community with more than 4,000 homes, 12,000 students and 5,000 jobs. With a strong economic base thanks to its large and growing employment centers, including Lake Nona Medical City and Lake Nona Sports & Performance District, Ariel offers some of the closest residences to the thousands of jobs, giving its residents a short commute, walk or bike ride to the major employers.
“Lake Nona has enjoyed a great partnership with WeldenField, and we are excited to launch our next project with them, named Ariel,” said Jim Zboril, president of Tavistock Development Company. “We attribute Lake Nona’s top residential sales ranking to a number of key factors, chief among them is the growing diversity of our neighborhoods – from the architectural style and world-class community amenities to top-notch builders and a plethora of home choice options. Tavistock has created a lifelong place to call home – a uniquely special community that grows with you, from rental apartments and family centric communities to active adult and assisted living facilities – we have something for everyone.”
