Orlando, Florida – Ariel Apartments was honored to receive the National Green Building Standard™ (NGBS) Silver Level Certification as certified by Home Innovation Research Labs in connection with Housing and Urban Development (HUD) recent MIP reduction program. Ariel was spotlighted in conjunction with the National Home Builders Association annual meeting in Orlando welcoming more than 50 attendees to tour the property.
Ariel is the newest multifamily community developed in partnership with Tavistock Development Company and BREC Development, LLC- a Welden Field Company, within Lake Nona, Tavistock’s innovative, master-planned community in Orlando. Energy efficiency standards include ENERGY STARÒ-rated appliances and lighting, Low E windows, door insulation, optimum-sized HVAC systems, air transfer management, sealed duct systems, superior insulation installation and programmable thermostats.
Other standards include water-efficient faucets and showerheads, high-performance clothes washers/ dryers and dishwashers, efficient plumbing design, high-performance toilets and water-efficient landscaping, irrigation and controls.
Indoor environment quality standards include the use of low-VOC (volatile organic compounds) emitting cabinets, moisture management, spot ventilation and low VOC paint and flooring finishes. Performance Point Consulting, LLC worked closely with General Contractor, Walker Construction, and architect, Fugleberg Koch, throughout the entire process.
